Summary

Join a dynamic team at Best Egg, where you'll play a key role in ensuring adherence to consumer protection laws and regulations, supporting new and existing consumer lending products, and collaborating with business partners, bank partners, vendors, and internal risk functions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three years of consumer financial services compliance experience
  • Fundamental understanding of all federal consumer financial protection laws and regulations including but not limited to, ECOA/Reg. B, TILA/Reg. Z, FCRA/Reg. V, SCRA, and MLA
  • Experience with state consumer protection laws and regulations a plus
  • Knowledgeable of open-end and closed-end secured and unsecured consumer loan products and open-end products
  • Superior organizational and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment
  • A creative approach to problem solving
  • The ability to collaborate effectively and propose alternate solutions
  • Ability to be flexible with changes in regulatory guidance or company priorities
  • Must work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Responsibilities

  • Support and advise the business on regulatory compliance risk in the development of new or enhanced products, programs, and services
  • Provide guidance regarding the applicability of regulatory developments
  • Review policies and procedures, and consumer facing collateral, including marketing and disclosures
  • Assist the business with issue analysis and remediation
  • Review compliance-related complaints and draft or revise responses to consumer complaints as needed
  • Provide regulatory compliance oversight and 2nd line of defense reviews on marketing strategies and materials
  • May participate in the Annual Compliance Risk Assessment process
  • Attend product meetings and provide ongoing advice on potential compliance impacts of new or modified products or services
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to lines of business and product teams
