Compliance Back-End Engineer

Summary

Join our Compliance Engineering team as a Software Engineer and play a key role in building and maintaining backend services supporting compliance operations. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and compliance professionals to ensure robust, scalable, and secure systems. This remote position based in the Philippines involves developing and maintaining backend services using Java and Kotlin, building APIs, working with databases, participating in system design, and collaborating on code reviews. You will also contribute to improving code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and translating compliance needs into technical solutions. The role requires experience with Java or Kotlin, RESTful APIs, relational databases, Docker, and CI/CD, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Apple equipment is provided.

Requirements

• Solid experience with Java or Kotlin (1-3 years preferred)
• Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Basic knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Kotlin
• Build APIs that integrate with internal tools and third-party services
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to support large-scale data processing
• Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical solutions
• Collaborate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality across the team
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure high reliability and stability
• Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for build and deployment workflows
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand compliance needs and translate them into technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Interest in blockchain or fintech industries
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g., React) is a bonus
