Summary
Join Environment Bank as a Compliance Officer and play a key role in ensuring the company's adherence to legal and ethical standards. Collaborate closely with the Head of Legal, Governance, and Compliance to develop, review, and implement robust compliance policies and processes. Lead the development of the company's compliance framework, manage health and safety protocols, and maintain various accreditations. Review and improve compliance policies, processes, and records across all business areas. Provide guidance on compliance and insurance matters to contractors and deliver compliance training to colleagues. Stay informed about legislative changes and implement necessary adjustments. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented approach and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
- Prior experience of managing certified accreditations in particular ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- With a proven track record in a business environment, you bring strong practical compliance experience to the table
- Your keen eye for detail, paired with an enthusiastic and proactive approach, ensures excellent attention to detail and that every challenge is met head-on
- Communication is your superpower, you quickly build strong internal and external relationships
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing EB’s compliance framework
- Internal responsibility for Health and Safety with a particular focus on working in an agricultural and environmental setting with input from our external consultants as necessary. Visits to our national network of Habitat Banks will be required as part of this responsibility
- Be responsible for the maintenance, application and audits for various accreditations which the business holds or is in the process of applying for
- Be responsible for reviewing, improving and maintaining our compliance policies, processes and records across all areas of the business
- Assisting the Head of Legal, Governance and Compliance on privacy matters for example with reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments and maintaining the Record of Processing Activities
- Providing guidance on compliance and insurance related checks for EB’s network of contractors
- Creating and delivering training and guidance to colleagues on compliance matters as appropriate
- Reviewing upcoming legislative changes which will impact EB and implementing any required changes
Preferred Qualifications
NEBOSH qualified Compliance Officer preferably with experience in the agricultural, environmental and/or sustainability sector
