Requirements

  • Possess 5+ years of experience in a similar role managing construction, ideally managing multiple simultaneous construction projects end to end (from lease signing to store opening) for a strong direct to consumer brand
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills, capable of evaluating costs and identifying opportunities to optimize the process without compromising quality
  • Possess strong negotiation skills, including a deep network with general contractors and architectural firms and a keen understanding of market costs; know where to push to ensure favorable bids without sacrificing quality
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to manage ongoing construction projects across the country and possibly the globe

Responsibilities

  • Partner with franchisees to ensure clear understanding of site requirements, layouts, permitting, and costs; open stores on time or ahead of schedule while staying under budget; build trust and foster professional relationships; demonstrate flexibility to work around the clock and proactively travel for better outcomes
  • Select, budget, and manage architectural design and general contractor partners during the design and bidding process; ensure stores are constructed at high quality, with on-brand design, and with a competitive budget
  • Ensure stores are built on time and within budget by managing the entire construction process; forecast opening dates; track key milestones; coordinate with general contractors; proactively manage dependencies; demonstrate flexibility and ability to value-engineer solutions to stay within budget while delivering high-quality stores across multiple simultaneous build-outs

  • Prior experience as a founder, especially if you’ve experienced failure
  • Reputation as an incredibly tough negotiator who maintains positive relationships with counterparties
  • Proven ability to hit aggressive timelines through creativity and resourcefulness
