Requirements

  • A medical degree and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
  • Advanced clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, risk management, and treatment provision
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Expertise in service development and a thorough understanding of National Standards for Mental Health Services and relevant legislation
  • A proven track record in working with diverse and vulnerable populations, including those with physical health, sexual health, mental health, and AOD presentations
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert secondary clinical consultation to mental health clinicians, including diagnostic clarification, case formulation, and treatment recommendations
  • Conduct primary assessments and provide expert psychiatric assessment, formulation, and management
  • Liaise with Public Mental Health Services and other providers to assist clients in navigating their service pathways
  • Collaborate with the Team Manager, Senior Clinical Coordinators, and Clinical Lead to ensure integrated, evidence-based clinical care
