Join Included Health as a Medical Director and become an integral member of the Clinical Leadership team. This critical role focuses on improving care quality, developing a high-functioning Psychiatry team, driving efficiency and integration, and creating a strategic vision for care evolution. You will dedicate 90% of your time to administrative duties and 10% to clinical care, reporting to the VP of Behavioral Health. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical operations, ensuring Psychiatrist performance and quality of care, identifying opportunities for system upgrades, and managing cross-functional projects. You will also build strong working partnerships across the organization and serve as a subject matter expert for Psychiatry. This position requires a detail-oriented and operationally-minded clinician leader who excels in a dynamic environment and leads with empathy.
Requirements
- At least five years of independent practice as a licensed Psychiatrist
- Minimum three years of experience managing clinical teams (5+ years preferred)
- Licensed, board-certified Psychiatrist in good standing with your state board(s)
- Active and unrestricted license in home state
- Qualified candidates must meet all clinical and educational requirements as outlined in the Clinician Employment Agreement / Offer Letter
- Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location
- Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods
- Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment
- No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required
- Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner
Responsibilities
- Regularly evaluate systems, tools, and processes to ensure Psychiatrists are able to easily, efficiently and effectively provide care
- Provide strategic leadership to support growth and innovation on the Psychiatry team and within the greater Clinical organization
- Manage cross-functional projects to drive results
- Partner closely with our Quality team to enhance clinical care, better monitor outcomes, and support clinicians in their professional development
- Manage clinician escalations, quality concerns, and compliance issues as they arise
- Support strategic relationships with key clients as assigned
- Identify a communications strategy to ensure Psychiatrists are well-informed and able to effectively provide care on our platform
- Interview, onboard and train Psychiatrists
- Participate in external facing activities such as webinars or conferences when required
- Dedicate approximately 16 hours per month to providing clinical care
- Manage direct reports including assigned clinicians, as well as the Psychiatry Program Manager
- Provide clinical consultation and support professional development efforts
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Psychiatry within and external to Included Health, as required
- Use quantitative and qualitative data and relevant tools (e.g., Looker) to inform decisions; support clinicians in using measurement-based care frameworks and empirically supported methods
