Summary

Sword Health is a digital musculoskeletal care provider on a mission to free two billion people from physical pain. The company is experiencing hyper growth and expanding its team, including a new role for a Quality Engineer in the Systems team. In this role, the engineer will manage a team of quality test and manufacturing engineers, identify cost-saving opportunities, investigate CAPAs and NCRs, develop validation test plans, and oversee product lifecycle management. The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 7+ years of experience in quality engineering with prior experience managing engineering teams.

Requirements

  • A technical degree in hardware, software, or industrial engineering
  • 7+ years in a quality engineering role, with prior experience managing engineering teams
  • Advanced DOE skills, capable of developing functional testing programs based on engineering / user requirements
  • Analytical thinker who can gather or create the information necessary to make data-driven quality and process improvements decisions
  • Naturally curious and methodical engineer capable of doing root-cause analysis of failure modes across hardware, electronics, and software

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Quality test and manufacturing engineers to support ongoing production process, NPI, and continuous improvement of existing product lines
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, and drive the necessary engineering changes to capture
  • Work with customer support to triage and validate component failure complaints in the field, and work with the engineering teams to introduce corrective solutions
  • Investigate CAPAs and NCRs that involve a hardware or manufacturing component
  • Develop and oversee validation test plans in support of New Product Introduction
  • Identify and qualify dual-source components to improve product quality and unit economics
  • Oversee product lifecycle management of critical electronic components within the Sword Thrive ecosystem

Preferred Qualifications

Worked on medical devices, and proficiency in the regulatory requirements of development
