Summary

Join the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) as a Contract Manager! This primarily remote position, requiring quarterly on-site meetings, offers leadership and administrative oversight for a portfolio of medical and surgical contracts. You will negotiate and implement purchase agreements, supervise contract specialists, and generate management reports. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, five years of relevant experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of experience in a progressively responsible professional purchasing and/or contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with professional, multi-disciplinary teams as a group leader as well as a participant
  • Demonstrated experience in complex contract negotiations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with business software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Financial acumen coupled with detail orientation
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate contracts assigned to their respective commodity group
  • Interact at a high level within UMMS and the supplier community
  • Manage contract personnel assigned to their commodity group
  • Manage, lead and/or facilitate corporate or any major supply, service or capital initiatives
  • Lead contract negotiations for all supplier contracts
  • Provide consultative services to UMMS’ personnel regarding any aspect of supply chain management and strategic sourcing
  • Prepare Infor Build and Corporate Contract Summary for upload into Infor Contract Management System for their commodity group within System Contracting and Clinical Capital Contracting
  • Manage contracts assigned to their commodity group to ensure UMMS compliance, vendor compliance, price competitiveness, utilization and market trends
  • Assist in the development of management cost reporting of expenses, corporate savings programs and recommendations for further “cost cutting” opportunities
  • Attend appropriate meetings and serve on teams as directed
