Requirements

  • 3+ years of previous procurement or recruiting experience
  • Proven success in managing high volume pipelines to established KPI’s
  • Building internal/external relationship with a customer service focus
  • Well organized and highly detailed with a flexible attitude to be able to prioritize, manage a variety of functions, and maneuver between tasks
  • Strong communicator in all media forms with the ability to communicate with associates, managers, in group settings, or individually
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Skilled negotiator with ability to influence others
  • Should possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook) with ability to compile and interpret spreadsheets, and ability to create meaningful and concise communications
  • Understand the complexities of procurement and contractor loyalty
  • Ability to travel within business network if needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration

Responsibilities

  • High volume sourcing of 1099 independent contractors (IC’s) whose businesses operate the optimal equipment (passenger vehicles to commercial trucks) within the geographical service areas requested by our customers
  • Proactively aligns or adjusts priorities with the need for contractors
  • Make outbound contact to and receive inbound contact from independent contractors to discuss contract opportunities available in their market
  • Accurately communicate the details of the services requested by our customers including the type of delivery equipment, ensuring the IC’s have information to make an informed business decision on whether to enter into a contract to service our customers
  • Selling US Pack as the premier logistics contract partner for the IC’s business
  • Ensures contractors meet DOT requirements, as appropriate
  • Negotiate contract rates with IC’s, maintaining adherence to margin targets and financial indicators
  • Develop relationships and work with field operations teams to discuss and understand the service needs in their markets, building a partnership with the operations team
  • Enter accurate, detailed notes into our system(s) of record
  • Maintain contact with pipeline of contractors to ensure timely completion of contracting requirements
  • Responsible for the best contractor partnership experience possible by communicating contract engagement details, ensuring understanding of the customer requirements and their business-to-business relationship with US Pack, resolving any outstanding questions or concerns timely
  • Maintain a deep, detailed understanding of current state of procurement campaigns, be able to discuss or provide status reports as needed or requested
  • Develops a full understanding of local contract driver market and makes recommendations of how to improve the pipeline of contractors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics, preferably in the same day/final mile space, with a contractor business model is preferred
  • Available to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays preferred
