Summary
Join Walden University's School of Nursing as a Contributing (Part-Time) faculty member for the DNP program. This remote position, ideal for those living over 50 miles from specified Adtalem offices, allows you to work on your own schedule while teaching online. You will mentor doctoral students, serve on committees, and utilize online technology to educate students. The role requires an MSN and DNP, active RN licensure, and experience teaching online at the graduate level. Compensation is based on factors like course type and experience, with additional opportunities for dissertation committee work and research.
Requirements
- Earned masterβs degree in nursing (MSN) AND an earned DNP,(preferably in Nursing or closely related field) from an accredited institution
- Evidence of current, active, & unrestricted RN licensure in one of the 50 states in the US
- Experience teaching at the graduate level in an online environment and mentoring doctoral students
Responsibilities
- Serve as committee chair, or faculty advisor and/or second member of doctoral project study committees
- Educate Walden University students by effectively and proficiently using online technology and resources so that knowledge, information, feedback, and critique are imparted to and shared with students in thoughtful, carefully formulated, well written, and timely communications
- Adhere to all Walden University Faculty expectations
- Teach a course using the CANVAS platform and interact with students within this platform
- Post to classroom discussion boards in a timely manner, a minimum of 4 days per week, with responses to student questions posted within 48 hours
- Maintain licenses and any appropriate certifications to continue teaching at Walden University
- Maintain currency with research by reviewing articles, journals, and presentations
- Publish and acknowledge Walden University if participating in research
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner certification or executive leadership experience
- Online teaching experience
- Expertise in areas of scholarship, theory, nursing education
- Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students
- Excellent communication, team, and human-relations skills
Benefits
- Graduate Course Instruction: $1,560 - $4,080 per Quarter or Semester, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Undergraduate Course Instruction: $700 - $2,200 per quarter, depending on type of course taught and length of course
- Opportunities for dissertation/doctoral study committee chair positions, research reviewing, and dissertation and doctoral study mentoring
- Remote work option (if over 50 miles from specified Adtalem offices)
