Summary

This hands-on role involves ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for clients, optimizing their accounting systems, and supporting their growth from Seed to Series C funding. You will work with diverse clients, build robust processes, and implement systems while embracing the agile nature of startups. Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a similar field
• Have over 5 years of progressive experience, preferably in a startup environment
• Be comfortable with Controller-level work
• Have a strong working knowledge of a variety of systems and tools and quickly learn how to navigate through new ones
• Understand GAAP

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of clients’ key financial data
• Optimize clients’ accounting systems and processes
• Facilitate client meetings
• Oversee monthly and yearly financial closes
• Support startup clients needing Controller help
• Context shift, communicate, prioritize, and evaluate client needs
• Build robust processes and implement systems for clients
• Interact with clients daily
• Work through client requests involving building and overseeing accounting processes (including monthly and yearly financial close, invoicing, A/R, A/P, general ledger, project accounting, and cash management)
• Expand revenue streams for clients
• Conduct Due Diligence

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Carta
• Have knowledge of R&D accounting and/or MSO/PC model
• Have experience with multi-entity consolidations
• Have customer or client service experience
