Requirements
- Hold a Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Possess 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management within property management or real estate
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Show proficiency with property management accounting software, preferably Rent Manager
- Have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- Exhibit exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Have experience managing and mentoring accounting teams
- Have a property management and real estate background
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Handle individual property accounting, accounts receivables, tenant ledger maintenance, and property-related expenses
- Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee quarterly distributions
- Collaborate and oversee finance teamโs processes for acquisitions and dispositions
- Assist with the management of property assets
- Manage budgets in collaboration with department heads and property managers
- Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Manage cash flow to ensure adequate funding for operations and investments
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax filings and audits
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing training and professional development opportunities
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance department
- Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency
- Oversee integration of property management and accounting systems
Preferred Qualifications
