Remote Controller - Residential Services

Join our finance team as an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to manage the company's financial operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support growth through acquisitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting or controller role, preferably within a private equity-backed services-based company
• Proven experience with Sage accounting software is required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with financial due diligence and integration of acquisitions
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and financial planning
• Manage the financial integration of acquired companies, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with corporate accounting policies and procedures
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital to support the company’s operational needs and growth objectives
• Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely completion and addressing any audit findings or recommendations
• Utilize Sage accounting software to its full potential, ensuring accurate data entry, reporting, and system integrity. Train and support staff in the effective use of Sage
• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management and the board of directors, supporting strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and long-term planning
