Summary
Join Wealthsimple, Canada's largest fintech company, and become the voice and brain of our brand for the website and client emails. You will be responsible for maintaining brand voice and tone, managing the in-house creative team, and advocating for industry best practices. This role requires a fantastic writer with extensive experience in consumer-facing brands, ideally in tech, and a strong understanding of finance. You will work cross-functionally, manage multiple stakeholders, and help evolve our creative process. Requirements
- Is first and foremost a fantastic writer — smart, engaging, and succinct
- Recognizes great writing and creative ability — and helps bring these out in others
- Brings extensive experience writing for consumer-facing brands, ideally in tech
- Understands finance (or is a convincingly quick study!)
- Is a strong advocate for the client, rather than being led solely by briefs
- Understands different digital channel objectives, user acquisition and business goals to ensure high customer conversion and retention
- Moves quickly, is decisive and likes to solve complex problems through rigorous experimentation— making, shipping, testing and iterating copy and content as much as possible
- Can help with documentation like style guides, guidelines, etc
- Loves to work cross-funtionally and collaborate with designers, product managers, marketers, and more
- Knows how to manage feedback from multiple stakeholders while maintaining our creative vision
Responsibilities
- You're going to be the voice and brain of our brand for two of our most important properties: the website and the emails we send folks as they become clients (and then decide how much to trust us and give us money)
- Be ready to jump into other projects as well — product launches, promotions, presentations, and lots more
- Be a “player-coach”, sometimes working as an individual contributor, sometimes overseeing other creatives
- Maintain our brand voice and tone everywhere we’re talking to clients (or people who aren’t clients yet)
- Manage members of our in-house creative team, offering regular coaching and feedback
- Be a thought leader who advocates for the latest industry best practices to improve performance results
- Help develop and maintain craft-specific documents — writing guidelines, tone of voice, etc
- Help evolve our creative process and team structure as new needs emerge
- Manage your team’s capacity and make sure the team is sufficiently resourced
