Requirements

  • Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in a state within the United States
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated in-house experience at a technology company and/or relevant law firm experience
  • Strong knowledge of contract law
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills
  • Balancing legal considerations with business objectives in a fast-paced, startup environment
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-growth environment

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including: SaaS and master services agreements
  • NDAs (Non-Disclosure Agreements)
  • Professional services, marketing, and vendor agreements
  • Data processing agreements
  • Channel and strategic partnership agreements
  • Provide information on what our risk is with new regulations around HR, AI, and frontline workers
  • Provide sound, practical, and strategic legal advice to go-to-market teams and internal departments including Finance, Security/IT, Product, Innovation, Marketing, HR, and Executive teams
  • Identify legal and regulatory issues with product and marketing initiatives, operational matters, and customer engagements, including privacy and data security concerns. Collaborate with the appropriate teams to devise effective and creative solutions
  • Develop and lead initiatives aimed at driving efficiency and effectiveness within the legal department, utilizing technology, streamlined processes, forms, and industry best practices
  • Support internal stakeholders in navigating complex legal requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of contract law. Corporate law, intellectual property, and compliance matters are a plus
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and SaaS industry regulations is a plus
  • Expertise with international transactions and corporate matters
  • Expertise in employment laws, specifically in regard to hiring
