The role of the lawyer or legal professional involves drafting and negotiating contracts, supporting new product development, managing legal and regulatory risks, and escalating issues as needed. They are looking for candidates with 4-6+ years of related experience, a strong understanding of financial services and crypto regulations, and an interest in blockchain and digital assets.

Requirements

• 4-6+ years of related law firm and/or in-house legal experience at a financial services or crypto company
• At least 2 years of experience advising or negotiating against institutional clients at a large law firm or bulge bracket bank
• Strong understanding of the laws and regulation applicable to transaction settlement, clearing, and securities lending, securities and derivatives regulation, and regulations relating to extensions of credit such as Regs T, X and U

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a wide range of prime brokerage, trading and commercial contracts
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate building, delivery, and marketing of new products
• Supporting international expansion of custody, trading, settlement and related businesses
• Managing legal and regulatory risks in a thoughtful and commercially practicable manner
• Escalating issues to senior team members as appropriate
• Pitching in whenever and wherever needed, even when not directly related to responsibilities described above
