Summary

UltraViolet Cyber is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to provide SOC engineering support, manage servers remotely, and support the full engineering life cycle. The candidate must have at least five years of experience in security focused IT engineering, possess certain skills, hold an Active or Interim Secret Clearance, and have a high school diploma. Certifications such as RHCE, Splunk Certifications, Security+, MCSE, CCNP are desired. The benefits include 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, group term life, short-term disability, long-term disability, voluntary life, hospital indemnity, accident, and/or critical illness, participation in the Discretionary Time Off (DTO) Program, 11 paid holidays annually, and a salary range of $90,000 - $130,000 per year.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in security focused IT engineering
  • Experience working with automation technologies (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Experience deploying applications and software in a RHEL environment
  • Practical understanding of log and monitoring management systems, SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanning, network-based and host-based intrusion detection systems, firewall technologies, malware detection and enterprise-level antivirus solutions/systems, VPN technologies and encryptions standards
  • Experience in the operations, management, monitoring and maintenance of network security devices and technologies, including firewalls, routers, VPN, IDS sensors, proxies, wireless access points, PKI, domain controllers, security information event managers, etc
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical experience in the application, management and implementation of security policies, controls and baselines to wide range of operating systems (e.g. Windows, OS X, Linux, etc.), network equipment (e.g. routers, switches) and network security devices (e.g. firewalls, IDS sensors, proxy servers, VPN concentrators, etc.)
  • Familiarity with and ability to execute change, problem and incident management concepts and methodologies (e.g. ITIL, COBIT)
  • Excellent organizational and attention to details skills
  • Active or Interim Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide SOC engineering support and guidance to the teams and the client that improve the client’s cybersecurity posture
  • Perform all design/engineering, configuration, implementation, and administrative activities associated with event collection tier solutions
  • Leverage automation software to efficiently manage and operate a large number of servers and devices remotely
  • Provide operations and maintenance for hardware

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications Desired: RHCE, Splunk Certifications, Security+, MCSE, CCNP, etc
