Requirements

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat analysis
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools, such as SIEM platforms, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and cybersecurity frameworks applicable to Canada
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze security systems, networks, and applications to detect and mitigate threats
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and resolve security weaknesses
  • Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents, including analyzing root causes and implementing solutions
  • Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on cybersecurity best practices
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to strengthen defenses
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s program enrollment or completion
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or other relevant credentials
