Data Analyst

Summary

Join ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa in a remote Data Analyst position partnering with a US-based client. This role demands expertise in Python programming, data manipulation, and insightful data visualization to drive business decisions. You will analyze large datasets, develop data pipelines, and present findings to stakeholders. The position requires working US hours (9 am to 6 pm EST) and necessitates a reliable high-speed internet connection (25 Mbps upload/download) and power backup. South African citizenship is required. A minimum of two years of experience in data analytics using Python is essential.

Requirements

• Possess a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for both upload and download, capable of supporting a wired Ethernet connection
• Have power backup solution (UPS, Solar) to manage loadshedding or power outages
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Plotly)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Data Analytics in Python required
• Be a South African Citizen

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and data needs
• Write modular, efficient, and scalable code for data manipulation and transformation using Python
• Automate repetitive data processing tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy using Python Scripts
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI
• Present data findings in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders at various levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to machine learning predictive modelling
• Exposure to SQL and database management using Python (SQLAlchemy/MongoDB etc)
• Experience with Azure cloud platform
