Data Analyst

Summary

Join ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa and partner with our US-based client as a Data Analyst with Python Development experience. Analyze large datasets, develop data pipelines, and create insightful visualizations to drive business decisions. This remote role, for South African citizens only, requires expertise in Python programming, data manipulation, and translating complex data into actionable insights. You will work USA hours (9 am to 6 pm EST). A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps and a power backup solution are required. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in data analytics using Python.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn
• Strong SQL skills for querying and managing relational databases
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Plotly)
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Data Analytics in Python required
• Working Hours: This role requires you to work USA hours Mon - Fri from 9am to 6pm EST (15h00 to 24h00 South African time - subject to change dependant on daylight savings)
• Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only
• Internet (fibre): Candidates must possess a fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps for both upload and download, capable of supporting a wired Ethernet connection
• Power backup: Candidates must have power backup solution (UPS, Solar) to manage loadshedding or power outages

Responsibilities

• Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and data needs
• Write modular, efficient, and scalable code for data manipulation and transformation using Python
• Automate repetitive data processing tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy using Python Scripts
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI
• Present data findings in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders at various levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to machine learning predictive modelling would be advantageous
• Exposure to SQL and database management using Python (SQLAlchemy/MongoDB etc)
• Experience with Azure cloud platform is advantageous
