Summary

Join European Dynamics as a Data Architect and contribute your expertise to a major client's IT team. Drive the design of a scalable data architecture using a federated, domain-oriented data mesh approach. Direct the development of domain-level data products, ensuring they are discoverable, interoperable, and secure. Advise on and oversee the implementation of robust data integration pipelines using Azure services. Contribute to FinOps practices by optimizing cloud resource usage and cost efficiency. Influence data modeling standards to support advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives. Ensure data quality, availability, and security by collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams. Support the evolution of data strategy by advocating for product thinking in data delivery. This remote position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as a data architect or senior data engineer.

Requirements

  • University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 5 years of experience as a data architect or senior data engineer performing above key tasks
  • Experience with Data Architecture and domain data processing
  • Experience in the modelling and design of domain-specific data products
  • Experience using Azure services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Platform
  • Experience using Microsoft Purview in data modelling, data governance, data management and data cataloguing practices
  • Experience with advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML
  • Excellent knowledge of data classification and protection
  • Knowledge of FinOps practices
  • Excellent command of the English language

Responsibilities

  • Drive the design of a scalable data architecture aligned with costumer’s enterprise architecture and supporting a federated, domain-oriented data mesh approach. The architect must account for the semantic richness, traceability, and governance requirements inherent to this type of data
  • Direct the development of domain-level data products, ensuring they are discoverable, interoperable, secure, and aligned with business capabilities
  • Advise and oversee the implementation of robust data integration pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics, enabling decentralized data ownership and cross-domain data sharing
  • Contribute to FinOps practices by designing data architectures and pipelines that optimise cloud resource usage and cost efficiency across Azure data services
  • Influence data modelling standards to support advanced analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives on the Azure platform
  • Contribute to the development of data governance, metadata management, and data cataloguing practices using tools like Microsoft Purview, ensuring traceability, lineage, and compliance with EU regulations
  • Ensure data quality, availability, and security by collaborating with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams, embedding protection and privacy controls into all architectural artefacts
  • Support the evolution of data strategy by advocating for product thinking in data delivery and promoting architecture patterns that align with cloud-native and data mesh principles
  • Conceptual and logical data models aligned with costumer’s business capabilities and the data mesh paradigm, ensuring clarity in data ownership and usage across domains
  • Data product specifications and architecture documentation, defining ownership, contracts, quality standards, and reuse mechanisms across business domains
  • Architecture artefacts illustrating secure, scalable data flows, including integration patterns and data sharing models that meet both operational and strategic needs
