Data Engineer

Join our team as a DataBricks Engineer and work 100% remotely for a US-based client specializing in cloud transformations! This long-term, full-time position offers a variety of projects across different industries, focusing on data migration, collection, and optimization. The client prioritizes long-term collaboration, with seamless transitions between projects. Current projects utilize Snowflake, and the ideal candidate will have experience in cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS), Python, and SQL. A flexible schedule is possible, with a small overlap in working hours required. The client values open communication and a streamlined recruitment process.

Requirements

• 7 years of experience as a programmer with knowledge of data and Python
• High proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehouses
• Understanding of performance optimization and indexing strategies
• Good knowledge of Python and its libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Requests, etc.)
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and database management
• English at a level that allows for fluent communication in a team

Responsibilities

• Write and optimize SQL queries, indexes, and procedures (with an emphasis on performance)
• Ensure the security, integrity, and optimal performance of databases
• Collaborate with developers and analysts to ensure that database projects support application needs
• Perform data migrations, create backups, and recover data as needed
• Write efficient (and reusable) scripts and modules in Python
• Create and integrate APIs for seamless communication between services
• Perform data analysis and automation tasks
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize code for performance and security
• Perform Data Ops tasks, i.e., understand systems, diagnose and solve problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ML and script automation
• Experience with cloud databases (Azure, Snowflake)
