Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouses
  • Data Modeling: Proficiency in designing efficient database schemas
  • Workflow Orchestration: Familiarity with tools like Apache Airflow
  • Data Streaming: Experience with data streaming and Change Data Capture (CDC)
  • Infrastructure: Proficiency in Terraform and GitHub Actions
  • Compliance: Experience in setting up PII anonymization and RBAC
  • Collaboration: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable and efficient data pipelines using tools like Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Fivetran
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs
  • Implement and enforce robust data governance policies to maintain data integrity, quality, and security
  • Develop and maintain ELT processes to extract, load, and transform data from diverse sources into the data warehouse in both batch and streaming fashion
  • Optimize SQL queries to enhance data analysis and reporting
  • Partner with data analysts, data scientists, analytics engineers, and stakeholders to understand data workflows and provide technical support
  • Diagnose and resolve data-related issues promptly
  • Build a cutting-edge development environment and CI/CD system to ensure scalability and efficiency
  • Ingest data from various external systems via APIs
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in data engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Kubernetes: Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
  • Data Warehouse Administration: Prior experience managing data warehouses is advantageous
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with GDPR or similar data privacy regulations is beneficial
