Requirements

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrated ability with ETL design and implementation
• Fluency with SQL, Python, and Shell scripting
• Experience with relational and time series databases
• Fluent in query optimization
• Familiarity with both cloud and on-prem data warehouses and ETL tools
• Understanding of the difference between batch, change data capture, and streaming – and when best to use each
• Experience with performance testing
• Advanced knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, or other Version Control System
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure
• Experience with database performance tuning
• Knowledge of DataMart architecture and implementation
• Experience with data analysis and visualizations

Responsibilities

• Perform exploratory data analysis to determine which questions can be answered effectively with a given dataset
• Trace code (forward and backward) through bitbucket
• Analyze SQL, Django and Python code for opportunities for improvement
• Review customer logs for errors and database processes
• Work with stakeholders to model data and provide it for downstream use in embedded analytics
• Conduct performance testing. Analyze test logs and create test reports
• Take initiative to implement test automation efforts
• Review requirement specifications and technical designs
• Participate in database design efforts and code reviews

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS databases, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Glue is a plus
• Proficient with Django and Go is a plus
• Experience with Jira is a plus
