Summary

Join Komodo Health as a Staff Data Engineer and contribute to the development of cutting-edge data products using the Healthcare Map. You will design and implement algorithms, build robust data pipelines, and foster a culture of technical excellence. In your first year, you will manage key projects, develop a deep understanding of healthcare challenges, partner with various teams, and mentor colleagues. The role involves partnering with multiple teams to understand complex health data, building foundational data platform components, architecting and developing data pipelines using Airflow, SQL, and Python in Snowflake, and contributing to Python packages and APIs. Requirements

  • Deep expertise in software and data analysis, statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
  • Extensive experience building scalable, best-in-class solutions that combine theoretical rigor with implementation efficiency
  • Demonstrated record of thought leadership and solution design that spans from high-level conceptual frameworks to detailed execution plans
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and openly with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Expertise in the design and architecture of ML/AI systems and workflows
  • Experience working with large-scale Machine Learning platforms, designing and building algorithms
  • Ability to use a variety of relational, NoSQL, Postgres, and/or MPP databases (ideally Snowflake on AWS) and leading data modeling, schema design, and data storage best practices

Responsibilities

  • Managed, coordinated, and delivered on key projects that advance our ability to bring new Technical and Data Services to market
  • Developed a deep understanding of healthcare-specific challenges and introduced innovative algorithms and software techniques that address these
  • Partnered with Data Product and Engineering teams to develop technical requirements, project roadmaps, and deliver scalable solutions
  • Actively collaborated with team members to mentor and up-level
  • Partnering with Engineering team members, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and customer-facing teams to understand complex health data use cases and business logic
  • Building foundational pieces of our data platform architecture, pipelines, analytics, and services underlying our platform
  • Architecting and developing reliable data pipelines that transform data at scale, orchestrated jobs via Airflow, using SQL and Python in Snowflake
  • Contributing to python packages in Github and APIs, using current best practices
