Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years’ experience in a data engineering role
  • Strong programming language skills such as Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience working with relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and their data services (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks)
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with AWS Data Services such as S3, Glue, EC2, and Athena
  • 1 year of experience with Docker
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Firm understanding of data architecture, deployment, and optimization best practices
  • 2 to 3 years of experience with ETL/data integration tools such as dbt, Informatica, or Airflow
  • Experience with common Project Management methodologies including waterfall, agile, and project planning
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming clinical data from various sources
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, product management, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Optimize data processes for performance, reliability, and efficiency to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data for analytics and reporting purposes
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipeline failures, data quality issues, and performance bottlenecks
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources, implement data model changes, and support ad-hoc data analysis requests
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trend in data engineering and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data infrastructure
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Data Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing solutions with Amazon Redshift
