Data Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Data Engineer at Simple, a mobile product company with over 15 million users, to help develop and grow their application by organizing and refining data processing pipelines, optimizing resource usage, helping analytics and product teams, and improving the data platform architecture.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software development, of which 4 years in data engineering
• Proficient Python
• Commercial experience with AWS cloud services
• Experience with data pipeline building technologies
• Proficiency in modern CI/CD tools for efficient development and deployment processes
• Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytical system
• Experience with cloud data warehousing

Responsibilities

• Organize and refine data processing pipelines
• Optimize the use of resources spent on data processing
• Help analytics and product teams get information in the most efficient way possible
• Develop and improve the architecture of the data platform to accommodate continuous growth

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SQL at the level of writing complex queries and the ability to optimize them
• Experience with Apache Airflow
• Experience with data modeling
• Experience with SnowFlake
• Experience with Looker
