Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at Washmen, focusing on optimizing and expanding our data warehousing solutions. The ideal candidate will maintain and enhance our data workflows, primarily involving data synchronization to Redshift and developing dashboards via PowerBI.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data engineering with a solid understanding of data warehouse architecture, particularly AWS Redshift. At least 4-5 years of experience in a mid-senior role
  • Strong proficiency with several AWS tools such as Kinesis, Cloud Watch, Sagemaker, Glue, and Appflow
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with ETL processes
  • Experience with PowerBI or similar business intelligence tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to mentoring others
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, SQL, and Javascript
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain robust data sync processes from multiple sources to our Redshift data warehouse
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS
  • Ensure the reliability and efficiency of ETL processes, implementing reverse ETL processes to sync data back into operational tools
  • Act as the liaison between DevOps and revenue teams to translate business needs into technical tickets
  • Continuously monitor and optimize data storage and retrieval processes to ensure efficient performance and reliability
  • Develop and enforce data validation rules to guarantee the accuracy and integrity of data used across the company
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and refine PowerBI dashboards that provide insightful and actionable analytics
  • Actively support and guide a transitioning team member in their development as a data engineer, including hands-on training and project collaboration
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies that can enhance our data infrastructure and analytics capabilities. Work closely with data scientists and analysts to support advanced analytics and machine learning models
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of marketing, product, and growth-related data
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define key business questions, perform exploratory data analysis, and uncover actionable insights that drive strategic growth. Develop and manage denormalized tables and reporting tables to optimize query performance and reporting needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure and tools is a plus
  • Preferably a candidate from Eastern Europe or MENA region
