Summary

Requirements

  • Have at least one (1) to three (3) years of relevant data engineering experience
  • Have intermediate experience with the Python programming language
  • Have intermediate experience with SQL
  • Have experience with Data Modeling
  • Have a B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

  • Learn coding techniques/standards and apply them to your work
  • Define, build, test, and implement scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL
  • Transform data to support varied use cases
  • Optimize existing data pipelines and improve existing code quality
  • Write unit and integration tests
  • Work collaboratively with peers to solve pressing data issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have exposure to a JVM language
  • Have exposure to Apache Spark or other distributed processing engines
  • Have exposure to Apache Kafka or other stream processing frameworks
  • Have exposure to Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, or other similar infrastructure tooling
  • Have exposure to job orchestration and/or ETL tools such as Airflow, Prefect, Glue, Talend, or Informatica
  • Have exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Have exposure to analytical databases such as Redshift, Athena, Big Query, and Presto
  • Have the ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Have the ability to actively seek new ways to grow using both formal and informal development challenges
  • Have the ability to effectively absorb and apply peer feedback
