Summary

Join our rapidly growing company as the Data Engineering Manager and lead our Data Architecture, Data Engineering, and Data Science teams. Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy, manage and mentor the data team, oversee data infrastructure, and lead data projects. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, monitor performance, and build strong relationships across the organization. This is an innovation and delivery role, requiring a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and 4 years managing a team with a $2M budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of success. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional results.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in data engineering with a minimum of 4 years in a role with direct reports managing a budget of around $2M annually
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Data Engineering or Computer Science
  • Unimpeachable technical knowledge in Data Engineering and Architecture
  • Strong hands-on experience with data infrastructure technologies such as Airflow, Fivetran, Kafka, dbt, and modern data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, and Redshift)
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data modeling techniques
  • Experience with AWS cloud platform
  • Deep understanding of data architecture, pipelines, warehousing, and real-time data streaming
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align Data with business goals
  • Project management skills
  • Understanding of industry regulations and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Data strategy aligned with the organization's overall business objectives, identifying emerging technologies to drive innovation while minimizing cost
  • Manage and mentor the Data team, assigning responsibilities, evaluating performance, ensuring accountability and fostering collaboration
  • Focus on continuous improvement through training and growth opportunities within the team based on merit
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Data infrastructure including data warehouse platform(s), data lake(s), transactional databases, pipelines, ETL, API, insights, ML and AI implementations
  • Lead the execution of Data projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior management proactively
  • Analyze Data operations to identify areas for improvement, track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Build and maintain relationships with leaders across the organization to facilitate the highest level of performance and delivery
