Summary
Join Fidelity & Guaranty Life Insurance Company (F&G) as a Data Management Associate and support the data management function within the pension risk transfer Operations Team. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of complex pension plan data, supporting the high-growth area of pension de-risking transactions. Collaborate with various teams to streamline data flows, enhance reporting, and maintain regulatory compliance. The position reports to the AVP, PRT Data Administration, and involves collaboration with internal and external partners for complete and accurate data. Responsibilities include assisting with all data-related aspects of PRT transactions, performing data quality procedures, and preparing various reports and analyses. The role also involves working with TPAs and addressing data anomalies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, business, or related fields
- 0-3 years of Data Analysis and /or Data Management experience
- Experience in SQL and complex SQL queries
- Strong knowledge of Financial Services
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access knowledge and experience
- Ability to summarize data into presentation material for leadership
- Demonstrated ability to partner with teams outside of individual’s reporting lines
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate messages to multiple audience levels
- Ability to work individually and collaborate with a diverse and inclusive team exemplifying strong and proven leadership skills
- Ability to maintain focus on key delivery timelines and deliver on those objectives
- Process and transaction-oriented; proven ability to identify gaps in processes that could cause issues in the future
- High level of curiosity, open to new ideas and ways of doing business
- Ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively across F&G, TPAs and with new/existing clients
- Perform other functions, duties, and projects, as assigned
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Minimal travel required (less than 10%)
Responsibilities
- Assist in all data-related aspects associated with all PRT transactions (new and existing)
- At AVP’s direction, perform the Company’s data quality procedures in onboarding customer data
- Perform reconciliation of data used in pricing the transaction to production data
- Reconciliation to account for all changes in data from pricing to production (e.g. deaths, date of birth changes, benefit changes, etc.)
- Present to management, client and the PRT broker all data changes and anomalies
- Document changes in data, and ensure that it is properly onboarded to TPA’s administration system
- Prepare Group Annuity Contract (“GAC”) premium true-up for new transactions
- Prepare data reconciliation for AVP’s review
- Provide reconciliation to the Pricing Team and answer any of their questions regarding data changes
- Prepare and present analytics for the Pricing Team that support underlying mortality experience
- Answer any client or PRT broker questions on the premium true-up
- Prepare GAC exhibits based on premium true-up data
- Prepare certificate data for TPA to produce customer certificates consistent with the premium true-up
- Participate in day-to-day operations activities of the Third-Party Administrator
- Monitor block of business by analyzing data
- Maintain, enhance and document current reports
- Proactively search and resolve data anomalies
- Escalate to PRT management any unanswered data queries or unusual data elements
- Provide ad-hoc support on data query requests
- Prepare necessary data control processes, as directed, ensuring completeness and accuracy of TPA data, including but not limited to
- Reconciliation of daily ledger feeds to TPA in force data
- Reconciliation of in force records from period to period
- Manage reconciling issues/questions with the TPA to ensure they are properly addressed and documented
- Create procedures for new and existing data-related processes
- Work with internal and external partners in development of necessary data feeds (e.g. unclaimed property, overpayment recoveries, general ledger updates, in force file updates)
- Work with the F&G IT team in the automation of all necessary data control processes
- Prepare responses to audit inquiries from internal audit, external audit, and internal controls teams related to PRT
- Assist in preparing data and answering questions from Corporate Actuarial and Finance, as directed
- Provide support on Escheatment and Misstatement Processes, as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance or Financial Services industry experience, preferred
- Tableau experience, preferred
