Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience. Advanced degrees may be used as a substitute for some experience
  • Expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, machine learning
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R
  • Strong understanding of life insurance industry or similar business domain
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa
  • Proven ability to stay up to date on the evolving Data Science field and drive the adoption of innovative solutions

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with executives and stakeholders to align data science initiatives with business goals ensuring the right work is done at the right time
  • Lead the development and execution of the overall data science strategy. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust data science solutions
  • Oversee and execute the design and implementation of complex machine learning models
  • Ensure proper communication of results to business stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Lead collaboration with different functional teams to deploy algorithms and develop processes and tools for monitoring model performance and data accuracy
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the data science team
  • Drive innovation by staying abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies, data sources and tools, and industry trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in a relevant field (Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Previous work in a similar role within the industry or related field
  • Contributions to research, publications, or patents related to data science or machine learning
  • Strong understanding of software engineering practices, version control, and deployment pipelines
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, Google Professional Data Engineer)
