Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience as a data scientist, and have experience applying computer science, statistics, or a related technical discipline
  • Strong background in experimental design and implementation
  • Proficient at performing robust statistical analysis
  • Excellent SQL skills, proficient in Python, familiar with dbt
  • Committed to leveraging technology and data products to help Democratic candidates run for office and win, empower progressive causes, and increase civic participation

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and third-party validation teams to rigorously examine impact of various interventions, both controlled and observed, in the outcomes of the 2024 election cycle
  • Build and iterate on models to help users understand and make actionable decisions on our datasets (ex: model to determine how likely someone is to vote or not)
  • Help design and build systems for matching records across databases
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of experiments on our voter outreach products, helping to improve efficiency of our client programs and informing the ecosystem on best practices
  • Develop and manage automated processes that ingest, clean, and standardize large amounts of data from multiple disparate sources to increase the breadth and accuracy of our voter datasets

Preferred Qualifications

  • On the ground campaign experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Experience building CLI tools and dockerizing them
  • Willingness to travel to Austin for onboarding week
