Summary

Join Pipe, a modern capital platform, as a fully remote Data Scientist. In this role, you will leverage statistical modeling to forecast customer cash flows, utilize analytics to enhance customer experience, explore datasets for insights, design and build models to optimize product offerings, and deploy and monitor model performance. You will be responsible for the end-to-end model development lifecycle, requiring proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python). A strong foundation in probability and statistics, along with excellent communication skills, is essential. Prior experience in finance and a Master's/PhD are a plus. Requirements

  • Experience building the end-to-end model development lifecycle
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (ex.Python). Data Science culture at Pipe is closely aligned with engineering's, so successful candidates will be familiar with developer best practices and comfortable navigating production codebases
  • Hands on experience in either of these MLOps infrastructure (ex. Chalk, Baseten, Metaflow, SageMaker, Vertex)
  • Sound fundamentals in probability and statistics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Use statistical modeling to better forecast our customers' cash flows and other drivers of business health
  • Use analytics and experimentation to improve customer experience on the Pipe platform
  • Proactively explore datasets to uncover insights, and prototype new model-driven features and products that provide value to our customers
  • Design and build models to optimize the company’s product offerings
  • Deploy and monitor model performance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work in finance, financial forecasting, and/or optimization is a plus
  • Educational background in Statistics, Computer Science, Financial/Applied Math, Operations Research, Economics, or a related technical field. Masters/PhD is a plus
