Data Scientist - Simulation/Sports Modeling

Summary

Requirements

• Prior work experience/internships in a production environment
• Experience building machine learning models from scratch
• Interest in sports and basic knowledge of major sports
• Advanced knowledge of sports and their related statistics and modeling methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of Python and SQL
• Familiarity with lower-level programming languages (Rust, C++, Java, etc.)
• You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S

Responsibilities

• Develop novel modeling techniques specific to predicting sports outcomes
• Clean complex sport-specific datasets and construct workflows to feed data into modeling frameworks
• Ideate new methods of modeling correlated events in sports

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with advanced sports statistics and analytics platforms used in professional basketball or football
• Experience working with real-time sports data feeds and APIs
• Knowledge of sports betting concepts and daily fantasy sports a plus
