Data Test Engineer

Requirements

• A strong QA/testing background with the ability to analyze and formulate test scenarios, test cases, and test plans
• Proficient in Data testing and strong SQL skills for data validation
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to understand and model data flow within complex systems
• Good understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies
• Experience in setting up and managing complex test data and analyzing test results
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in leading offshore teams
• Strong background in QA/testing methodologies with a focus on ETL testing and data analytics
• Robust SQL skills for creating comprehensive test scenarios and plans
• Ability to lead offshore teams and ensure alignment with testing best practices

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements and design comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and test plans
• Conduct Data testing and leverage strong SQL skills to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Utilize analytical skills to understand and model how data flows within complex systems
• Work closely with Agile Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Set up and manage complex test data to validate system functionality and performance
• Analyze test results and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey testing strategies, results, and recommendations
• Lead offshore teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and ensuring alignment with testing best practices
• Utilize preferred skills, including working with Big Data (Hadoop ecosystem), AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, Data Pipeline, AWS Glue, AWS Managed AirFlow, AWS RedShift), and various data sources for ingestion
• Work with streaming messages through Kafka topics and experience with Hive/Athena query engine
• Collaborate with the team in adopting and enhancing testing processes and tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with Big Data, specifically within the Hadoop ecosystem
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, Data Pipeline, AWS Glue, AWS Managed AirFlow, and AWS RedShift
• Experience working with various data sources for ingestion, such as file, DB, and streaming messages through Kafka topics
• Proficiency in working with Hive/Athena query engines
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka
