Remote Database Developer

Summary

Job Description: Mutual of Omaha Mortgage seeks a mid to high-level Database Developer to develop ETL pipelines, update data architecture, and prepare/deliver database objects. The role supports the business in using the existing architecture and contributes to the migration to Microsoft Fabric.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with T-SQL (window functions, CTEs, views / stored procedures, performance tuning)
• 3+ years of loading, importing, and exporting data into and from databases
• 3+ years of experience with Python / PySpark / Databricks / Snowflake
• 2+ years of experience with Git / Azure DevOps
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (certification desired)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to create technical documentation
• Reliable, self-motivated, and exhibits ownership for assigned work
• Self-directed learner with the ability to research and implement novel approaches to business directives
• Excellent organization, prioritization, and deadline focus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Interfacing with internal / external business SMEs to create and maintain data objects within SQL Server
• Collaborating with team on implementation / maintenance of data architecture
• Monitoring server performance and implementing optimizations to ensure availability
• Creating and maintaining performant queries, views, and stored procedures
• Collecting and manipulating data as required for ad-hoc analysis
• Isolating and resolving data source issues with limited supervision and oversight

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure (Data Factory / Monitor)
• Mortgage industry experience

Compensation range $90-110K
