Summary
Join our team as a skilled Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) specializing in MongoDB. You will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database infrastructure, working closely with development, SRE, and DevOps teams. Your duties will include designing, maintaining, and optimizing MongoDB clusters, implementing monitoring and automation strategies, and collaborating on database integration into CI/CD pipelines. This role requires strong MongoDB expertise, experience with automation frameworks (Python/Ansible), and a proven track record in database management. A Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with 5+ years of relevant experience. The position offers a general remote environment with occasional travel.
Requirements
- Experience with automation frameworks
- Experience with Python and/or Ansible or equivalents
- MongoDB (Configure, Tune, Upgrade, Recovery)
- Experience with MongoDB Sharding
- Experience with MongoDB Query and Index Tuning
- Experience with MongoDB Replication
- A Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required
- 5+ years in an SRE position managing database workloads (preferably MongoDB workloads) or 5+ years in a developer position with advanced MongoDB knowledge
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and optimize MongoDB clusters for high availability and performance
- Implement database monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation strategies
- Collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices
- Troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize queries and indexes
- Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for database operations
- Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Elastic
- Experience with networking and virtualization/containers
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware issues
- Experience with MongoDB security best practices
- A Bachelor's degree in software development, database programming, or computer engineering

- The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado, California, Washington and New York City applicants for this role is $116,100-$170,280 for CO and $135,300 β $198,400 for NYC, WA and CA
