Database Systems Engineer

Summary

Join Centric Market Intelligence™, an AI-driven market insights solution provider, as a Backend Engineer. You will build and operate highly scalable, high-throughput systems, optimize our data platform for performance and reliability, conduct performance analysis, and take ownership of system components. You will collaborate with other teams, mentor junior members, and contribute to improving our data pipeline processing millions of products daily. This is a fully remote position offering various benefits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer, preferably with a proven track record of leading database initiatives within complex, large-scale environments
• Advanced SQL skills (mainly PostgreSQL), including experience in query optimization and data modeling, both in OLTP and OLAP systems
• Significant Python knowledge
• Experience with AWS or similar cloud providers, using technologies like RDS, EC2 or EMR

Responsibilities

• Build and operate highly scalable, high-throughput systems supporting our applications, both internal and customer-facing
• Optimize our data platform to ensure optimal performance and reliability
• Conduct performance analysis and tuning, removing bottlenecks in our services and getting down to the low-level when necessary
• Take ownership of relevant parts of our system, identifying new features and improvements
• Coordinate joint initiatives, communicating with other teams
• Mentor and support more junior members of the team and organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Django and Celery
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, AWS ECS) and IaC tools (Terraform)
