Summary
Join Team Rubicon as a Deputy Director, Operations and lead a team managing disaster response operations across the East Branch. You will implement strategic goals, foster collaboration, and oversee service delivery within a designated geographic area. This remote position, based in one of several states, requires extensive experience in disaster response, emergency management, or a related field, including personnel management. The role involves both general operational duties and emergency response coordination, requiring significant travel. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience in the military, disaster response, emergency management or first responder fields
- Proven record of personnel management experience such as recruiting, managing, training, and developing employees and volunteers
- Proficient with technology tools and in remote working for communicating and coordinating with a large network of TR staff members, Greyshirts (volunteers), and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and impactful delivery of Team Rubicon services
- Ensure the development and maintenance of rapport and influence with external stakeholders
- Develop team performance goals and objectives while mentoring across the operations Department
- Establishing and maintaining the Routine and Resilient Strategy for how teams are built out across the department
- Lead the coordination and engagement of corporate volunteers with Development across the department
- Assist with planning and budgeting in accordance with approved training, engagement, and operational tempo
- Oversee purchasing and expenses in accordance with the National budget
- Oversee and assess efforts to recruit, engage and train Greyshirts and Greyshirt volunteer leaders in accordance with organizational objectives
- Serve as a key member of the Emergency Operations Team (EOT) during disaster situations
- Assume a designated position within the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and perform all duties assigned by the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) leadership
- Participate in the activation, operation, and deactivation of the EOC, ensuring effective response coordination
- Provide direct support in coordinating response activities with local, state, federal, and non-governmental agencies
- Assist in developing and implementing disaster response strategies, ensuring resources are deployed efficiently
- Facilitate communication between field operations, the EOC, and external stakeholders
