Summary

The job is for a Developer Advocate at GlareDB whose role is to increase awareness and adoption of their open source database product. The position requires development experience with data engineering expertise, compelling technical content writing skills, knowledge about the data engineering space, startup enthusiasm, and excitement about GlareDB. Preferred requirements include growing a developer brand or product, teaching complex topics, public speaking experience, and being part of GlareDB's team.

Requirements

• You have development experience with subject matter expertise in data engineering
• You have written compelling technical content for a data engineering or developer audience
• You’re knowledgeable about the data engineering space and passionate about improving the daily experience of the data engineer
• You’re excited about working in an early startup and are energized by rapid experimentation and learning
• You’re excited about what we’re doing at GlareDB and excited to tell more people about it

Responsibilities

• Drive overall awareness of GlareDB through sharing unique approach and position on data engineering on social media as well as attending and speaking at meetups and local events
• Represent the voice of the data engineer in everything we do, by deeply understanding their pain points and ensuring we’re building the right thing to solve their most impactful problems
• Produce educational content for GlareDB, including how-to content and onboarding materials
• Produce in-depth technical deep dives into how GlareDB works, including authoring content on new features and use cases
• Assist with the documentation and onboarding experience of GlareDB so it’s easy to use and easy to contribute, including writing sample projects, code examples, and other written content
• Help recruit early users of GlareDB on the internet and occasional in-person meetups and events
• Work closely with early users of GlareDB to understand their pain points and bring learnings back to the team

Preferred Qualifications

• You have been a part of growing a developer brand or product and growing the community around it
• You have experience teaching developers about complex technical topics
• You have experience with public speaking (online or in person) and enjoy it
