Developer Advocate

Summary

Join Vonage's Developer Relations team as a Developer Advocate (Onboarding) and revolutionize the developer onboarding experience for our APIs. You will design and implement tooling solutions to simplify API integration for developers, focusing on automation, troubleshooting, and documentation. Your expertise will streamline the developer journey, from initial API evaluation to production deployment. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure tooling aligns with platform capabilities and developer needs. This role requires strong software development skills, API integration experience, and proficiency in Python or JavaScript. Responsibilities

• Create and implement automated solutions for common onboarding tasks, reducing manual setup time and potential configuration errors
• Build tooling that helps developers diagnose and resolve common integration challenges, including debugging utilities and testing frameworks
• Develop and maintain tools that help keep API documentation current, including automated testing of code samples and integration examples
• Design, develop, and maintain CLI tools, SDKs, and automation scripts that streamline the integration of Vonage's Network APIs into various development environments
• Gather and analyze developer feedback to identify opportunities for tooling improvements and new automation solutions
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to ensure tooling aligns with platform capabilities and developer needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Developer Experience, Developer Relations or Developer Advocacy experience
• Experience with SDKs and command-line tool development
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages commonly used for tooling
• Familiarity with cloud communication platforms (CPaaS), Network APIs, and Vonage APIs
• Background in creating developer documentation and technical content
