Summary

Join Almanak as a DevOps Engineer (Senior/Mid) to build scalable infrastructure for AI Agents in DeFi. The team builds production-grade AI Agents and deploys them. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform; orchestrating containerized workloads using Kubernetes; implementing robust cloud security practices; setting up comprehensive observability solutions; and working with Python engineers to streamline development workflows. The ideal candidate possesses deep hands-on experience with GCP, Kubernetes mastery, a security-first mindset, proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, and a focus on scalability. The role requires strong CI/CD experience and a collaborative approach. Competitive compensation, flexible schedule, remote work, co-working space, gear, and education budgets are offered.

Requirements

  • Cloud engineering expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (or equivalent cloud providers). You understand compute, networking, storage, and managed services inside and out
  • Kubernetes mastery: You've designed, deployed, and maintained production Kubernetes clusters. You know the ecosystem—Helm, operators, service meshes, ingress controllers—and when to use each tool
  • Security-first mindset: Experience with cloud security best practices, zero-trust architectures, container security, secrets management, and compliance frameworks. You think about security at every layer
  • Infrastructure as Code: Proficient with Terraform, Pulumi, or similar tools. You believe in version-controlled, reproducible infrastructure and have battle-tested experience with it
  • Scalability focus: You've built systems that handle significant load and know how to design for horizontal scaling, fault tolerance, and graceful degradation
  • DevOps culture: Strong CI/CD experience, monitoring and observability practices, and a collaborative approach to working with development teams

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native systems on Google Cloud Platform that can handle high-throughput AI agent workloads and blockchain data processing at scale
  • Orchestrate containerized workloads: Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, implement GitOps workflows, and ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid agent deployment and iteration
  • Secure the stack: Implement robust cloud security practices, manage IAM policies, network security, secrets management, and ensure compliance with security best practices across all environments
  • Monitor and optimize: Set up comprehensive observability solutions, performance monitoring, and alerting systems. Identify bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization to keep costs lean while maintaining performance
  • Enable the team: Work closely with our Python engineers to streamline development workflows, automate deployments, and provide the infrastructure foundation that lets them focus on building great AI agents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience scaling AI/ML workloads or blockchain infrastructure in production
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) and advanced Kubernetes patterns
  • Familiarity with DeFi protocols and the unique infrastructure challenges of crypto applications
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure or DevOps tooling

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation, consisting of either fiat/crypto remuneration and an equity package in the core Almanak holding + bonuses
  • Flexible schedule & remote work: You’ll be able to work remotely and manage your own time
  • Co-working space, gear, and education budgets: The company will invest in your comfort at work and in your personal growth
