Summary
Join Platform9 as a DevOps Engineer and contribute to building, maintaining, and supporting our public SaaS platform. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance across customer environments. This role involves designing and managing infrastructure using Terraform, developing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and troubleshooting infrastructure issues, and writing automation scripts. Collaboration with various teams to resolve technical issues and improve system reliability is crucial. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in Terraform, CI/CD, AWS, Linux, Python, and Bash, and thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to an agile/scrum workflow. This remote position offers flexible work arrangements and opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, infrastructure as code, and managing cloud-native environments
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Teamcity)
- Solid understanding and operational experience with AWS services
- Proficiency with Linux, system administration, and shell scripting
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile development environment
- Ability to work independently and proactively during US Eastern timezone hours
- Participation in on-call rotations for production SaaS environments
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and operate our public SaaS infrastructure, ensuring it meets reliability, scalability, and performance goals
- Design and manage infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, safe, and consistent software delivery
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and service issues in AWS and Linux environments
- Write automation scripts and tooling in Python and Bash
- Collaborate with product engineering, support, and customer teams to resolve technical issues and improve system reliability
- Participate in an on-call rotation during US Eastern timezone hours
- Operate within an agile/scrum workflow, contributing to planning, retrospectives, and continuous delivery
- Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks for operational processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Golang
- Exposure to OpenStack environments
- Knowledge of cloud security and best practices for SaaS platforms
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
