Summary
Join Zeller, a fast-growing Australian scale-up reimagining business banking and payments, as a DevOps Engineer. You will be responsible for automating processes, designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring highly available infrastructure on AWS. This role requires strong experience with AWS services, CI/CD tools, scripting languages, and a deep understanding of DevOps principles. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to support product development and operations. Requirements
- Strong background in CI/CD design and tools (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, Bitbucket pipeline, Github, CircleCI)
- Strong background in monitoring and tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Knowledge of networking, load balancing, and system performance tuning
- Familiarity with Microservice and Serverless architectures
- Good knowledge in databases and clustering - SQL, NoSQL
- Understanding of data lake and data warehousing
- Instinctive desire to automate, script, and codify infrastructure and processes
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, or Ruby)
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitHub/Bitbucket
- Knowledgeable in containerization (e.g., Docker)
- Experience in AWS Cloud environment, CloudFormation, VPC, Subnets, EIP, EC2, VPC Peering, PrivateLink, Direct Connect, Security Group, ACL, VPN, Loading Balancing, Route53, CloudFront, ECS, ECR, Auto-Scaling, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, System Manager, Parameter Store, Certificate Manager, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch logs, events, triggers, CloudTrail, X-Ray, Billing and Cost Management, Organisation, Single Sign-On, Lambda, API Gateway, AWS config & Guardduty
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and cloud Security models
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in software engineering (or related)
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect
- 4+ years of working experience in a technical hands-on DevOps role
- Demonstrable experience in supporting mission-critical systems
Responsibilities
- Maintain AWS environments
- Automate processes
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure elastic, auto-scaling, compliant, secured, and highly-available infrastructure
- Adopt and promote best practices and bleeding-edge technologies
- Work in a cross-functional team with full-stack software engineering, infrastructure, and quality assurance skills
- Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to support product development, operations support, compliance activities, and SLA upkeep requirements
- Architect and implement compliant, efficient/performant, secure, and auditable CI/CD and application infrastructures
- Promote Infrastructure-as-Code, selection of tools, standards, and best practices
- Maintain mission-critical high-load production systems with SLA 99.999%
- Optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability
- Build and maintain scalable infrastructure using AWS tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK
- Support rapid and agile product deployments to different environments - dev, test, stress-testing, staging/production
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in working within a high-growth environment
- Experience in other cloud platforms (Azure, Google)
- Experience in payments
- Experience with PCI compliant environments (PCI-DSS, etc)
