DevOps Engineer II

Summary

Join our team as a DevOps Engineer II, focusing on security for the Unemployment Insurance Systems Modernization project. This remote, 3-month contract role involves designing, implementing, and managing security solutions within a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. You will safeguard cloud infrastructure, applications, and data, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Collaboration with the Technical Lead is key to defining the future technology platform and roadmap. Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders is essential to convey technology needs, benefits, and risks. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in GCP security, IT best practices, and project management, along with experience in monitoring and analyzing security events.

Requirements

• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a primary focus on security
• Fluency in IT technologies, best practices, and concepts
• Project management experience
• Experience with monitoring and analysis of security events to detect security risks and threats
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage security solutions and practices within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment
• Safeguard cloud-based infrastructure, applications, and data while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Help define the future state for the technology platform and assist in creating the roadmap to implement that vision
• Ensure strong communication to both technical and non-technical resources about the technology needs for this effort and the benefits and risks associated with the recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate
• Microsoft 365 Office Products proficiency
• Advanced Project Management knowledge
• Ability to implement and enforce security requirements
• Previous experience providing this service for government
• Experience with the client's environments
