Requirements

  • 6+ years experience operating large-scale customer-facing production environments with a focus on uptime and service quality
  • Deep proficiency working in a cloud environment (AWS)
  • Expertise in Kubernetes and containerization (EKS, Helm, Docker, ECS, ECR, GitHub Container Registry)
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Automation (Terraform)
  • Familiarity implementing a successful CI/CD and GitOps workflow across different teamsโ€™ needs (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)
  • Experience managing distributed database systems (PostgreSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, MySQL)
  • Hands on experience deploying and managing Apache Kafka (Confluent)
  • Comfortable working within Ubuntu Linux operating systems
  • In-depth knowledge of service observability and telemetry (OTel, Datadog)
  • Understanding of Git/Github and typical versioning workflows
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and API Gateways (Firewalls, ACLs, routing, VPN, Load Balancers)

Responsibilities

  • Implement and upgrade GitOps Kubernetes (AWS EKS/ArgoCD) and serverless (AWS Lambda) deployment patterns
  • Develop tooling to enable product development teams to build and deploy software as quickly and efficiently as possible
  • Partner with other engineers across the organization to identify the optimal cloud infrastructure, networking and storage design for each solution
  • Collaborate daily with fellow team members to drive best practices and identify innovative strategies for successful delivery
  • Manage credentials and permissions, and ensure the security and health of our systems by monitoring and preventing vulnerabilities
  • Identify, recommend, and implement system improvements to reduce infrastructure costs
  • Participate in on-call rotation to ensure productionโ€™s system availability meets SLAs
  • Assist in compliance and security policies, SOC II testing, and remediation
  • Mentor junior engineers and build the talent on the DevOps team
