Summary

Join Faptic Technology, a rapidly growing Romanian tech company, as a DevOps Engineer specializing in Windows application orchestration. This remote role demands hands-on experience with Ansible or Chef, PowerShell scripting, and Windows Server administration. You will analyze and document existing procedures, design automation scripts, collaborate with various teams, and maintain an inventory of automated tasks. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in several technologies. It's a 6-month contract with the potential for extension.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in infrastructure automation and configuration management
  • Proven experience with orchestration tools such as Ansible or Chef, including scripting for Windows environments
  • Deep understanding of the Windows operating system, including PowerShell scripting, WinRM, and system internals
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably C#, with working knowledge of YAML and JSON
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub Actions
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies (e.g., standups, sprint planning)
  • Proficient with version control systems such as Git, with experience managing script repositories and branching strategies
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot automation issues
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Passion for automation, continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and document existing manual operational procedures and tasks on Windows systems
  • Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks or Chef cookbooks to automate repetitive configuration and setup tasks
  • Test automation scripts in development and staging environments to ensure accuracy and idempotency
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to identify automation opportunities
  • Maintain and update an inventory of automated tasks and related configurations
  • Debug issues in Windows automation tasks (e.g., PowerShell modules, WinRM, file permissions)
