DevOps/Automation Engineer

Summary

Join CircleCI as a Part-Time DevOps/Automation Engineer to build and maintain our benchmarking automation. Collaborate with the PMM Team and technical leadership to create, maintain, and update a script-based benchmarking program across common CI/CD tools. Share results with the PMM Team to ensure meaningful consumption by stakeholders. This one-year contract role (with renewal option) involves 80 hours in the first two weeks and 20 hours per subsequent quarter. Work independently, managing your own time and schedule outside of set meetings. The role focuses on designing, executing, and maintaining automated performance testing scripts for CI/CD workflows, adapting them to changes in technology and the competitive landscape.

Requirements

• Experience doing basic infrastructure spin up/spin down with AWS
• Experience using Python (or Go) to write automation (sample requested)
• Experience working with REST APIs to set up automation (samples required)
• Experience configuring CI systems in tools such as GHA, Gitlab, CircleCI, etc
• Track record of working independently with on-time delivery

Responsibilities

• Design and execute automated performance testing scripts for specified CI/CD workflows in specified CI/CD tools including collection of relevant performance metrics
• Maintain and alter these to adapt to changes in the tech, understanding and competitive landscape in subsequent once-quarterly check-ins
