Summary
Join STR's Analytics Division as a Lead DevOps Engineer and contribute to the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or other systems. You will support AWS toolsets, maintain CI/CD environments at various classification levels, and ensure infrastructure toolsets are compliant with Department of Defense standards. This role involves acting as a point person with corporate IT, advocating for DevOps fundamentals, and educating engineers on solid software development processes. STR offers a flexible, hybrid work environment, allowing for remote work when feasible. The position requires an active Secret clearance and significant experience in DevOps technologies and practices. You will work as part of Agile software teams, collaborating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- This position requires an active secret clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by U.S. Government
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
- Minimum of 5-7+ years relevant experience depending on degree (BS +7 years)
- Experience with all relevant technologies including: CI/CD tools (Gitlab) and pipeline automation
- Cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and automated provisioning tools (such as Ansible, Chef, TerraForm)
- Containerization technologies such as Docker and Podman
- Kubernetes management solutions such as EKS and Rancher
- Experience deploying, and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and pod configurations
- Basic knowledge of Linux System Administration
- Knowledge of Python and Linux Shell
- Knowledge of Cyber Security fundamentals
- Organized, detail-oriented, and with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated experience as an effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences
Responsibilities
- Support Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets in an unclassified environment
- Maintain multiple CI/CD environments at multiple classification levels where AWS is not available
- Configure CI/CD environments for application performance, security monitoring, and alerting
- Act as a point person with the corporate IT organization to ensure that infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and in compliance with Department of Defense standards
- Advocate for and educate engineers on DevOps fundamentals while helping to implement solid software development processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance
- Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
- Experience in: full web-service stack, including databases, logging, and monitoring
- Project tracking tools such as Jira
- Designing, deploying, and monitoring Kafka clusters
- Deploying and maintaining artifact repositories (such as Nexus, Artifactory)
- Deploying and configuring static and dynamic code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, Coverity)
- Leading teams in an Agile/SCRUM software development process
- Current Security+ Certification
