Join EXPANSIA as a DevSecOps Engineer III and play a critical role in designing, building, and deploying solutions for both customer-facing environments and internal development processes. You will automate operational, development, testing, and release activities, ensuring secure, stable, and efficient systems. Collaborate with developers and engineers, taking ownership of infrastructure, automation tools, and code deployments. This remote, full-time position requires a deep understanding of technical principles, agile and DevSecOps methodologies, and modern infrastructure practices. The salary range is $113,000-$160,000.
Requirements
- Clearance: Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
- Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 years of experience
- Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts to solve complex problems
- Understanding of Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps principles and practices
- Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Golang, Java, C++)
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Podman and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and workflow tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar platforms
- Strong experience with version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience in building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Packer, and Ansible
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with monitoring tools and analyzing performance metrics for continuous improvement
- Ability to manage and deliver on multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- IASAE Level II certification per DoD Directive 8570.01-M/8140.01 within six months of hire (for senior DevSecOps roles as defined in AFMAN 17-1303 Table A2.9)
Responsibilities
- Design and build solutions to deploy applications in customer-facing environments and automate operational aspects via code
- Automate and improve development, testing, and release processes to support continuous delivery of software and updates
- Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure following established standards and stakeholder needs
- Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats, identifying and resolving technical issues and developing software updates and fixes
- Collaborate with software developers and engineers to ensure development aligns with processes and functions as intended
- Manage infrastructure projects and processes and test implemented designs for quality and security
- Build, test, and maintain automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and handle code deployments in all environments
- Monitor system performance and metrics, analyze results, and identify areas for improvement
- Provide technical guidance, educate team members and coworkers on development and operations best practices
- Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards and ensure compliance with security policies and governance
- Follow standard agile practices, processes, and governance aligned with DevSecOps methodologies to support customer acquisition programs
- Participate in agile forums to optimize collaboration and development efficiency
- Use common tools and libraries defined in collaboration with Security, Development, and Operations teams for developing, testing, and deploying software
- Collaborate on modernizing development processes, resolving technical issues, brainstorming solutions, and reviewing tools and methodologies
- Communicate technical issues effectively through written, oral, and digital means
- Support multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload effectively
- Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within program initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality
- Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
- Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within the work area
- Participate in growth efforts as requested
- Ensure all contractual deliverables are met or exceeded to the customer's satisfaction
- Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)
- Build productive and positive professional relationships with clients within your program
- Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with modern cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and related technologies
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and ability to ensure secure software development practices
- Experience working in government acquisition or similar customer programs following agile DevSecOps methodologies
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite for communication and documentation
